My Banter

I am a short and spunky girl with a lot of energy.  One of my unique features is my voice-both its volume and sound. Growing up I felt like I sounded like an 80 year old smoker trapped inside a 7 year old body. But as I got older I learned to be content with the sound of my voice. The volume of my voice is somewhat uncontrollable and I usually stand out in a crowd.

When I lived in Winnipeg I explored the idea of going to broadcasting school but decided to go another route.  I was lucky enough to have a member of my community have me be a guest on her radio show often and I fell in like with the experience.

I then voiced a few radio commercials for Winnipeg Parent Newsmagazine and knew that one day I wanted to voice more.  I also had the opportunity to produce and voice a commercial for Living Free Canada (an online community I started) and decided to be more aggressive towards voice work.

It is my dream to be the voice of a cartoon (Yes, Disney, I will accept the role of a sultry octopus) and to have millions of households hears my voice during the commercial breaks of their favourite TV shows.

So, I’m working on my demo and want to include a variety of my voice samples. A mentor of mine, Cathy Browne, suggested I look at Blog Talk Radio….and so I did!

Blair’s Banter was born!

This is great, not only can I have my own radio show (for free) but I also get to create MP3s of the show for my demo!

Wednesdays from 12:30-12:45 I host Blair’s Banter. I talk about the Public Relations industry and I speak my mind while sharing stories, tips and secrets! I usually invite an industry professional on air to share their tips and secrets while have a great time!

It is a lot of fun to think about show topics, write the scripts and banter with guests. I LOVE IT. I have only had 2 shows, as of yet, and have many more planned. I stutter, I stumble, I talk fast and slow and have a lot of fun. I am learning and growing while edutaining my listeners!

Have a listen here and let me know what you would like me to talk about!
